Talently is seeking a Welding Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer to lead QC efforts in a high‑tech microelectronics environment, ensuring welding and purity standards are met across projects. The on‑site role in Minneapolis involves collaborating with engineering, suppliers, and contractors, developing inspection plans, and traveling 20–25% to supplier sites to perform QC inspections.

You will interpret drawings, drive corrective actions, and ensure comprehensive build documentation

Qualifications

• 3+ years QC experience with welding/steel in oil & gas, aerospace, or water treatment equipment.
• Experience with high-purity products for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ASME codes and AWS D1.1, ASTM standards.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding documents (WPS, PQR, WQTR).
• Proficient in generating QC reports and using inspection tools.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management.
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office; data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive inspection test plans aligned with project quality requirements.
• Monitor and control all inspections and tests conducted for project builds.
• Manage scheduling of inspections and issue Non‑Conformance Reports promptly.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
• Ensure accuracy of build documentation prior to production.
• Collaborate proactively with project teams, suppliers, and contractors.
• Travel to supplier sites to perform QC inspections (20‑25% travel).

• Competence with Adobe Acrobat, MS Office suite, and data reporting.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Bluebeam software expertise.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from AWS.
