Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the site QA program at a 100-person manufacturing facility producing 100 million containers annually. You will establish QA objectives and align with Production to ensure reliability and cost efficiency.

You will uphold ISO and food safety programs, conduct audits, analyze data, and report to leadership. You’ll manage engineers, auditors, and technicians and serve as the voice of the customer in site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (packaging or plastics).
• Minimum of five years of manufacturing or quality assurance leadership experience.
• Functional knowledge of statistical process controls and manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency with statistical software such as Minitab.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with customers, vendors, regulatory agencies and executives.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and maintain Quality Control objectives and coordinate with Production to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
• Uphold ISO compliance and maintain food safety programs, ensuring applicable programs are sustainable and effective (e.g., bacterial testing, pest control).
• Direct quality control through internal and external audits, data analysis, reporting, documentation and due diligence.
• Lead Continuous Improvement Team and provide guidance to customers and leadership.
• Act as primary contact between the customer and production facility (voice of the customer regarding quality activities).
• Manage a team of 2 Engineers, 2 Auditors, and 6 Technicians; participate in Site Steering Committee.
