Electro Cables, a Nexans company, is growing and is currently hiring for a Quality Assurance Manager to support operations at both of our Trenton, Ontario facilities — Sidney Street and Riverside Drive. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Manager. This position will be dedicated to our Trenton plants in a cable manufacturing plant environment and requires regular interaction with production areas.

One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalating the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems, services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a quality program that will involve all manufacturing departments to ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and governing standards. The Manager will ensure production processes are capable of producing quality product and will work with Maintenance and Production to resolve process problems. They are also responsible for collecting and analyzing quality and non‑quality data so that it can be used for continuous improvement of CONQ.

How You Make An Impact
Quality Management System
  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the plant’s Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Quality Policy and Quality Manual to ensure consistent production of high‑quality products and maintain ISO 9001 certification.
  • Develop and oversee internal and external audit programs, ensuring effective execution, compliance, and timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Ensure all processes, procedures, and documentation meet regulatory, customer, and company quality requirements.
Quality Performance/KPIs
  • Analyze quality performance metrics, identify NCMR trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance product reliability.
  • Develop data collection to track First Pass Yield (FPY), rework rates, and Cost of Non‑Quality (CONQ) to improve overall product and process efficiency.
  • Establish and oversee quality monitoring across the entire product lifecycle, from incoming materials through in‑process controls, final electrical testing, and laboratory analysis, ensuring full compliance with customer specifications and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., CSA, UL).
  • Monthly reporting of quality KPIs.
Customer, Supplier & Certification Bodies
  • Manage customer complaints and supplier quality issues, ensuring root cause analysis (RCA) and effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Manage third‑party inspections (TPIs) in accordance with customer Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) requirements.
  • Manage routine surveillance product inspections (e.g., UL and CSA).
  • Attend customer quality meetings and prepare all required reports to communicate performance, address non‑conformities, and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Team & Leadership
  • Lead and mentor the quality team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues through spearheading daily RCAs and implementing robust process controls.
  • Drive employee engagement in quality programs through training, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives that foster a proactive quality mindset, ensuring all teams take ownership of product and process quality across all functions.
  • Review employee performance and career plans accordingly.
  • Control expenses to ensure that the budget is maintained and implement expense reduction measures where appropriate.
  • Maintain test equipment calibrations to ISO 17025.
  • Ensure that all health and safety as well as environmental regulations are complied with and maintained within the quality team.
