Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager – Data Centers to lead quality assurance and control across large-scale data center construction projects in Illinois.

You will drive QA/QC planning, inspections, and documentation from preconstruction through turnover, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and client representatives to ensure compliance with codes and contract requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of QA/QC management experience within large-scale construction environments.
  • At least 3 years of experience working on mission-critical or hyperscale data center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction codes, standards, and specifications (ICC, NFPA, AISC, ASHRAE, IEEE, NEC).
  • Proven experience managing and leading QA/QC teams on complex construction projects.
  • Familiarity with owner standards within hyperscale data center environments.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Forma, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and CMiC.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; NFPA 70E/Arc Flash and First Aid/ CPR preferred.
  • Relevant quality certifications such as ASQ CQ, AWS-CWI, CQM-C, or ICC are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project QA/QC program across large-scale data center construction projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and document quality inspections with subcontractors and vendors across structural, architectural, civil, and MEP systems.
  • Ensure inspections and testing are properly executed for underground utilities, concrete, steel, prefabricated assemblies, and specialty systems.
  • Monitor installation methods and workmanship to reduce defects, punch-list items, and rework.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project requirements to ensure compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, and quality standards.
  • Conduct constructability and quality reviews during preconstruction and early trade coordination.
  • Communicate project-specific quality requirements to internal project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead QA/QC efforts from project kickoff through final handover and closeout.
  • Develop and implement project-specific quality management plans aligned with contract requirements and established quality standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality professionals responsible for site evaluations, reporting, inspections, and project-specific quality planning.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and project leadership to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Lead weekly QA/QC meetings with subcontractor quality personnel and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate receipt inspections and oversee third-party testing and inspection agencies.
  • Manage quality records, inspection reports, test results, deficiency logs, and other project documentation.
  • Track and report KPIs relating to defect trends, rework costs, inspection performance, and overall quality outcomes.
  • Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs).
  • Support timely corrective and remedial actions in collaboration with the wider project team.
  • Participate in internal and external site audits and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure all required quality documentation is compiled for final turnover, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, turnover packages, and client closeout requirements.
  • Support a strong safety culture and ensure quality personnel actively participate in project safety programs and initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and help identify opportunities to eliminate defects and waste throughout project execution.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager – Data Centers to lead and oversee all quality assurance and quality control activities on large-scale, mission-critical construction projects.

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving quality throughout the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction and early trade coordination through installation, inspection, commissioning support, and final turnover. The QA/QC Manager will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, client representatives, and third-party inspection agencies to ensure all work is delivered in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience in large-scale construction, a deep understanding of mission-critical and hyperscale data center environments, and the ability to lead teams while proactively identifying and resolving quality issues before they impact the project.

Key Responsibilities
