Job summary

Eurofins USA Environment Testing in Horsham, PA seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all quality operations across the Philadelphia area, provide leadership to staff, and ensure compliance with government regulations. The role focuses on sustaining quality improvements, policy development, and communicating complex quality issues to laboratories and clients.

The ideal candidate will have a chemistry or biology background, 3+ years in QA for environmental testing, and proven English

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in environmental testing or similar.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, speak).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality operations across Philadelphia business and service centers.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff and group leaders.
  • Ensure adherence to government regulations and quality system compliance.
  • Lead corrective actions and track follow-ups.
  • Drive process improvements and quality policy development.
  • Coordinate audits (agency and client) and maintain audit readiness.
  • Train and develop departmental staff and ensure regulatory training.

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager oversees all quality operations of the Philadelphia business including service centers; providing leadership and mentoring/coaching to staff; participating in short-term and long-term planning and goal setting for the company; facilitating adherence to government regulations; sustaining quality improvement and providing quality policy development; providing sound consultation to laboratories and clients on problems or interpretation of quality/compliance issues; keeping abreast of evolving regulatory and industry quality assurance requirements.

Quality Assurance Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Ensure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization; identify, prevent, or correct any departures from the quality system
  • Ensure that corrective action is appropriate; ensure that follow-up requirements are completed
  • Encourage employee participation in process improvement initiatives
  • Handle agency audits, client audits, visits, and phone calls; prepare letters to clients; attendance at some local and national industry meetings
  • Keep abreast of regulatory climate; assist technical operations with interpretation; advise on adjustment of lab policy as appropriate
  • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all state and federal employment regulations
  • Coach/mentor other members of the quality team
  • Oversee regulatory training program; assist with, and present departmental and corporate training at a frequency to meet regulatory expectations and ensure compliance
  • Work with operations and clients to drive challenging/complex resolutions and/or negotiate appropriate position or compromise; offer compliance options
  • Identify and drive system improvements; diagnose complex issues
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and knowledge
  • Provide leadership and direct management of any Group Leaders(if applicable) and other non-management employees in the department
  • Exhibit self-confidence and leadership
  • Expertise in laboratory quality operations and regulatory environment
  • Sound reasoning, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Good judgment and flexibility in dealing with others
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities
  • Communicate effectively in written and oral form
  • Ability to manage the work of others and see projects through to completion
  • Translate government regulations into laboratory policy/processes
  • Utilize planning, organization and work management tools

  • Dedication to quality, ethics, and customer service
Basic Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Quality Assurance in the environmental testing or similiar industry.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with additional time as needed.

Position is located in our Horsham, PA site.
