Job summary

Austin Allen Company - Professional Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance leader for a growing dairy manufacturing operation in the Upper Midwest. This role focuses on building and guiding QA and laboratory teams, strengthening food safety programs, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate has QA leadership in food manufacturing, a strong science background, experience with GMP/HACCP/SQF audits, and a collaborative, data-driven

Qualifications

• Quality Assurance leadership experience in food industry manufacturing; dairy experience preferred.
• Strong science background in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing, microbiological analysis, and food safety standards.
• Experience with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety audits; PCQI certification a plus.
• Ability to develop, implement, and improve quality systems, policies, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative, hands-on leader who takes initiative, uses data to make decisions, and holds teams accountable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Flexibility to support production operations across shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Quality Assurance and laboratory teams.
• Oversee quality control, laboratory testing, food safety programs, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, implement, and improve quality systems, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor product quality, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations and other departments to drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a strong culture of quality, food safety, accountability, and teamwork.
