Job summary

Assertive Professionals is seeking a Quality Assurance Linux Administrator to support our National Security Customer near Hanover, MD. This funded position offers a salary range of $130,000 to $140,000, plus a sign-on bonus and various benefits.

The ideal candidate will manage Linux systems and provide IT support, with a requirement for a TS/SCI clearance. Benefits include PTO, 401(k) match, and more.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph required.
• Four years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope for Level 1.
• Nine years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope for Level 2.

Responsibilities

Job description

Assertive Professionals is searching for a Quality Assurance Linux Administrator to support our National Security Customer near Hanover, MD.

This is a funded and immediate position. The salary ranges from $130,000 to $140,000 and includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus, $2,000 in reimbursable relocation expenses, and a $1,200 annual compliance bonus.

Position Description

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Provide support for hardware problems and remain involved in resolution.
• Configure and manage Linux operating systems; install and load operating system software; troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components.
• Create bash shell scripts to aid in system stability and deployment repeatability.
• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph
• Level 1: Four years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Level 2: Nine years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four additional years of relevant system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Bash programming experience
• Perl/Python programming and Linux (Redhat/CentOS 5 or greater) experience
• Knowledge of web technologies (html, xml, Java2E, etc.)
• Experience with virtualization and Puppet 3 or greater
