Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Elkridge, MD is seeking a Mission Assurance Quality Assurance Lead to join our team. You will perform inspections, support ISO audits, and coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and contracts to ensure quality across sub-assemblies and final items.

Ideal candidates hold a US citizenship, have DoD/AS 9100 experience, and can obtain a Secret clearance. The role requires 6+ years in defense quality/inspection plus ERP experience (SAP) and CADSTAR review of

• High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience in Defense Industry, Quality, Inspection, Shipping or Manufacturing with SAP.
• Experience in electromechanical assembly.
• Experience with shipping/packaging requirements.
• Experience using CADSTAR to review engineering drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Interface with customer and government (DCMA) for in-process inspections and final submittals.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Perform receiving inspections.
• Support 1499 storeroom and finished good inspections.
• Perform Final Kit inspection of vendor material in accordance to packing list and conforming criteria per QAD (Quality Assurance Directive)
• Evaluate in-process and completed sub-assemblies and systems and identify defects in accordance with governing documentation.
• Perform inspections using tooling and check‑off lists for the complete inspection of sub‑assemblies and systems.
• Interface with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes and documentation issues.
• Review metrics, procedures, and techniques used to inspect materials, parts, units, and/or systems that improperly passed inspection, in order to make necessary corrections to prevent recurrence.
• Support ISO Audits as required by audit coordinator.
• Submit contract end item product as required.
• Inspect shipment and shipping paperwork such as government/customer shipping documents, packaging and preservation information using applicable specifications.
• Some interface with contracts personnel is also required for shipping process.
• Interface with customer and government (DCMA) for required in-process inspections through final inspection as well as contract end item submittals and final pack and shipping process.
• Perform as a Quality Process Control Aide in an AS‑9100 process‑oriented organization.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience working within the Defense Industry, Quality, Inspection, Shipping and/or Manufacturing Experience using SAP
• Experience in electromechanical assembly
• Experience with shipping/packaging requirements
• Experience using CADSTAR to review engineering drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance
• U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• AS 9100 Experience interfacing with DoD customers
• Experience within a quality inspection capacity

Primary Level Salary Range: $54,517.00 - $132,658.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
