Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, final, and receiving inspections as assigned.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and inspection instructions.
  • Verify dimensions and other product characteristics against requirements.
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality records.

R&R Tool Inc. is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Quality team. R&R Tool Inc. is a contract machine shop located in Blanchester, Ohio that specializes in medical manufacturing with tight-tolerance precision parts.

Hours are M-Th 6:00 am - 4:30 pm or M-Th 4:15 pm - 2:45 am. Pay is competitive, based on experience. Will train. Shift differential for 2nd shift is $1.75.

We have openings on both 1st and 2nd shifts.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for inspecting manufactured components to ensure they meet customer, engineering, and company requirements.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with their hands, has strong attention to detail, is comfortable learning technical information, and takes pride in producing quality work. Previous quality or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, final, and receiving inspections as assigned.
  • Inspect parts using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools.
  • Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
  • Verify dimensions and other product characteristics against specified requirements.
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain required quality records.
  • Identify and document nonconforming material.
  • Assist with containment and identification of suspect or defective product.
  • Communicate quality concerns to Quality and Production personnel.
  • Perform visual inspections for defects, damage, contamination, and workmanship issues.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure equipment is properly identified and within calibration.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and controlled inspection area.
  • Follow company procedures, work instructions, and quality system requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement and corrective action activities as requested.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately perform repetitive measurements and inspections.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality requirements.
Preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or inspection experience.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other precision measuring equipment.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience with Excel or other computer-based recordkeeping systems.
  • Previous experience in an ISO 9001 or quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive inspection and measurement activities.
  • Ability to use small hand-held measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift and move inspection samples and materials as required.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.
