Job summary

Owen Metals Group/NPS Metals in Fargo, ND is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector for the 1st shift to uphold precision standards on the shop floor. You will have authority to stop production when quality falls short and will perform tool checks, inspect parts, and verify documentation.

You will work with the Quality Manager to investigate issues, sign off on conforming parts with the QC sticker, and support special projects. A 4-day work week and comprehensive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in manufacturing or QA; attitude and attention to detail taught if needed.
• Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Basic computer skills and Excel proficiency.
• Strong communication and organizational discipline.
• Willingness to work a consistent 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly tool and gauge checks to ensure measurement accuracy.
• Verify operator forms and system entries for alignment.
• Conduct random inspections on flat, formed, and machined parts against specs.
• Approve conforming parts with QC sticker or quarantine nonconforming items.
• Collaborate with Quality Manager to investigate suspect materials and resolve issues.
• Complete final visual inspections and verify shipping details for accuracy.
• Exercise full stop-work authority to protect quality standards.
• Support special projects and team needs.
