Job summary

Lexicon, Inc. seeks a Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure civil and piping works meet project specs, codes, and client needs. You will inspect, document, and report quality, coordinating with site teams to uphold safety and standards.

Applicants should have a civil/mechanical engineering background with 5+ years in QA/QC, familiarity with ASME/API/AWWA/ISO/ASTM/AWS, and structural/welding inspection experience. On-site work with strong safety focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in QA/QC inspection for civil and piping works within infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with codes and standards (ASME, API, AWWA, ACI, ASTM, ISO, AWS, etc.).
• Knowledge of welding processes, NDT methods, and material inspection.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Certification such as CSWIP, AWS-CWI, or equivalent (for piping/welding) is an asset.
• Certification in civil QA/QC or inspection (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective teamwork.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day inspection and quality monitoring of civil works (concrete, foundations, structural works, earthworks, etc.) and piping installations (fabrication, welding, erection, hydro-testing).
• Verify compliance of materials, construction methods, and completed works with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards (ASME, API, AWWA, ACI, ISO, etc.).
• Conduct dimensional checks, alignment verification, and weld visual inspections.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, checklists, and quality reports.
• Review and verify contractors' quality documentation including Material Test Certificates, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
• Witness and verify civil material testing (concrete slump, cube tests, soil compaction, etc.).
• Witness piping tests including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak tests.
• Ensure calibration and certification of testing equipment used on site.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, construction engineers, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Participate in QA/QC meetings and provide input on quality performance and improvement.
• Assist in audits and reviews conducted by clients or third-party agencies.

Quality Assurance Inspector Overview:

The QA Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all civil and piping installations comply with project specifications, engineering standards, codes, and client requirements. This role requires strong technical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with construction teams, contractors, and project management.

Quality Assurance Inspector Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspections & Compliance

Physical Demands:

• Overtime is required.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds occasionally.
