Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to validate software, hardware, features, and integrated solutions across the Bently Nevada product portfolio. You will craft robust test strategies, automate testing, and contribute to continuous product improvement in an Agile setting.

Collaborating with software developers, product owners, and fellow QA engineers, you will own test plans, execute tests, review requirements, and help drive quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute quality engineering assignments of varying scope.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for acceptance, functional, regression, performance, and reliability testing.
  • Execute manual and automated tests across software, hardware, and integrated environments.
  • Review requirements with feature owners to craft test plans and strategies.
  • Create end-to-end test cases based on business needs and domain knowledge.
  • Participate in exploratory testing, bug bash, and release readiness activities.

Baker Hughes is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support innovative projects across the Bently Nevada product portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for validating software, hardware, features, and integrated solutions through a variety of testing methodologies to ensure the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with software developers, product owners, and fellow quality engineers to develop robust test strategies, automate testing processes, and contribute to continuous product improvement.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Quality Engineering & Test Execution
  • Owning and executing small to medium-sized quality engineering assignments
  • Developing and maintaining automated test suites for acceptance, functional, regression, performance, and reliability testing
  • Executing manual and automated testing activities across software, hardware, and integrated system environments
  • Reviewing requirements and collaborating with feature owners to develop comprehensive test plans and test strategies
  • Creating clearly documented end-to-end test cases based on business requirements and domain expertise
  • Participating in exploratory testing, feature validation, bug bashes, and release readiness activities
  • Setting up and configuring hardware and software test environments
  • Supporting continuous integration pipelines by integrating automated testing into development workflows
Defect Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking software and hardware defects
  • Providing detailed reproduction steps, logs, and supporting data for issue resolution
  • Collaborating with development teams to diagnose issues and validate corrective actions
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives across products and development processes
  • Contributing to quality engineering discussions and helping improve test methodologies and practices
Agile Collaboration
  • Working as part of an Agile development team with accountability for both individual and team outcomes
  • Participating in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and team collaboration activities
  • Supporting cross-functional efforts to ensure successful project execution and product delivery
  • Helping drive quality throughout the entire product development lifecycle

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Quality Assurance Engineering principles and methodologies
  • Have experience with manual and automated testing practices (academic or professional experience accepted)
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within collaborative teams
  • Understand how to prioritize work based on business and customer needs
  • Demonstrate the ability to investigate issues thoroughly and clarify requirements when necessary
  • Be adaptable and comfortable working in dynamic environments with changing priorities
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables and consistently deliver high-quality results

Desired Qualifications

Experience in any of the following areas would be considered beneficial:

  • Software development experience using C#, Java, C++, or similar programming languages
  • Test automation development and maintenance
  • Test plan creation, execution, and management
  • Testing web services and APIs, including SOAP and REST architectures
  • Performance, scalability, throughput, and load testing
  • Testing Windows applications and hardware-integrated software systems
  • Experience with firmware, embedded systems, or hardware products
  • Familiarity with Agile and defect-tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, or TFS
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments
  • Experience with virtual machines and test infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with development environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Ability to think through customer workflows and end-user scenarios
  • Basic understanding of rotating equipment, industrial control systems, or industrial processes

The annual pay scale for this position is between $78,350.00 - $145,620.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time.
