Actalent in Newton, MA is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to develop, document, and execute test cases for application and embedded software in medical device robotic systems. This role focuses on identifying defects, collaboration with software and hardware teams, and providing feedback to improve software performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

You will apply Windows and Linux testing, PowerShell scripting, and version control tools, while aligning with FDA/IEC

Qualifications

• Hands-on software quality assurance with manual testing of application and embedded software.
• Experience using PowerShell scripting to support testing activities.
• Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems in testing or development contexts.
• Knowledge of embedded hardware testing and robotics or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test cases for application and embedded software.
• Identify, document, and track defects and performance issues using bug tracking systems.
• Collaborate with software/hardware teams to understand requirements and testing needs.
• Analyze results, diagnose issues, and provide actionable feedback to engineers.
• Suggest improvements to test strategies to enhance performance and reliability.
• Perform manual testing and validate integration of embedded hardware and software.
• Use Windows/Linux, Git/SVN, and Azure DevOps to manage test artifacts and workflows.
• Consider regulatory standards (FDA/IEC) when planning and executing tests.
