Job summary

KULR Technology Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II to strengthen our aerospace-grade quality program in Houston. You will drive QA activities, implement CAPA, and work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards for battery pack assemblies and interconnects.

The role emphasizes root cause analysis, process improvements, and supplier quality support. Frequent travel between local work locations is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or energy storage.
  • Experience in AS9100/ISO 9001 QMS environments.
  • DoD and aerospace electronics standards knowledge preferred.
  • IPC standards knowledge and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and audit testing against standards and analyze defects and deviations.
  • Develop and maintain QC procedures for battery pack assembly and interconnects.
  • Lead RCA and CAPA for quality issues including field failures.
  • Collaborate with Production to validate procedures and test protocols.
  • Support supplier quality management and material qualification.
  • Contribute to design reviews and new battery pack designs.
  • Support AS9100 and internal audits and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct quality inspections of prototypes and production as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer II

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Quality Assurance Director

Location: Onsite.

KULR Technology Location: Houston

Travel: Frequent travel required between local work locations. Other travel requirement as needed.

Position Overview:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing a culture of Quality and continuous improvement. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Aerospace and Defense programs. The Quality Engineer supports KULR’s quality objectives and contractual quality requirements in a team-based environment, adhering to program cost and delivery schedules.

This role implements policies and procedures to ensure adherence to production quality standards, monitors and audits process, material, and product testing against established standards and conducts a continuous analysis of quality defects and deviations and identifies deficiencies or gaps in testing activities and develops solutions to ensure adequate and robust quality processes. This position optimizes processes to comply with existing and new regulatory requirements.

Functions:
  • Monitors and audits process, material, and product testing against established standards and conducts a continuous analysis of quality defects and deviations.
  • Develop and maintain quality control procedures specific to battery pack assembly, cell integration, thermal management systems, and electrical interconnects
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives for quality issues, including non-conformances and field failures
  • Collaborate with Production to validate manufacturing procedures, test protocols, and assembly work instructions
  • Support supplier quality management, including audits, corrective actions, and material qualification for battery cells and component suppliers
  • Participate in design reviews and provide quality input for new battery pack designs, manufacturing processes, and test methodologies
  • Support AS9100 and quality management system compliance activities including internal audits, management reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conducts quality inspections of prototypes, production, and testing as needed.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Screens applications, interviews candidates, and recommends individuals for hiring.
  • Trains and assigns work to new and continuing employees.
  • Delegates tasks and provides effective direction to team members to produce business results.
  • Independently conducts frequent performance feedback weekly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Makes recommendations for salary increases, merit increases and reclassifications.
  • In conjunction with HR, determines corrective action as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or energy storage sectors
  • Experience in an AS9100/ISO 9001 certified QMS environment.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in DoD and aerospace electronics manufacturing standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and electronics assembly best practices
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Python, Minitab) for advanced statistical analysis
