Job summary

Socket.dev in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Testing & Validation Specialist to develop automated test scripts using AI for web, mobile, and backend apps. You will generate and maintain test data, perform targeted manual testing, and provide early feedback on design and implementation.

Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to create thorough test plans, identify defects, and promote agile practices. This role is full-time, temporary, with a starting rate of $23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of strong experience in QA/testing and quality engineering.
• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies.
• Quality certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts utilizing AI technologies for Web/mobile and/or backend applications.
• Leverage AI-powered testing tools to generate, optimize, and maintain test cases and test data.
• Perform targeted manual testing when needed and for story verification.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to understand requirements and provide early feedback on Design and Implementation.
• Create detailed, comprehensive test plans and cases.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects.
• Review design plans, process procedures, and quality manuals.
• Maintain quality records and compliance documentation.
• Analyze data to identify trends and prevent defects.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions.
• Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools and methodologies for problem-solving.
• Work closely with development, product and operations teams.
• Promote agile principles: adaptability, transparency, iterative development.
• Lead the team to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
