Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. in Warrendale is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to execute QA activities under the guidance of the QA Manager. You will participate in inspections, audits and continuous improvement of the TSD QA program.

Responsibilities include supporting supplier and internal audits, assisting with calibration of equipment, analyzing inspection data and helping prepare quality procedures and training programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with 0–2 years of experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use inspection tools.

Job description

Execute Quality Assurance (QA) activities as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (MEPPI) Transportation Systems Division (TSD) QA program.

Essential Functions
  • Perform pre-shipment inspections (PSI) and audits on procured product at supplier facilities.
  • Perform internal audits on TSD processes.
  • Perform evaluations/audits at new or potential suppliers.
  • Provide support for customer audits, ISO surveillance audits and ISO certification audits conducted on TSD.
  • Provide responses to QC inspectors in matters regarding receiving and in-process inspections.
  • Provide support and guidance to QC inspectors for the calibration of equipment and tools.
  • Analyze, develop and provide ideas, suggestions and proposals for corrective/preventive actions, improvements and root cause analyses.
  • Process material review reports (nonconforming item reports).
  • Analyze and report findings of inspection data.
  • Create, update and maintain quality procedures and training programs.
  • Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.) with 0-2 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Intermediate interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors and customers.
  • Intermediate analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
  • Ability to safely and properly use inspection tools and test equipment.
  • Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products.
