Job summary

Connexity, Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of its products through comprehensive testing. The role partners with Product, Engineering, and Operations to identify issues early and deliver great user experiences.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of QA experience, hands-on with test plans, automation with Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, API testing, and SQL. This is a hybrid role based in the Los Angeles area with cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Testing.
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications.
  • Hands-on with test plans, cases, and regression testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain manual and automated test suites.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Build and expand automated testing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to define test strategies.
  • Identify, document, and verify defects through resolution.
  • Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies.
  • Analyze results and communicate quality risks.
  • Support testing of APIs, back-end services, and web apps.
  • Contribute to process improvements in QA practices.
  • Assist in root cause analysis of production issues.
  • Ensure test coverage aligns with requirements.

Job description

The QA Engineer is based in Los Angeles, reports to the VP of Engineering, and is a member of the Engineering team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Connexity's products through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about delivering high-quality software. They will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify issues early, improve test coverage, and help deliver exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases and test suites.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of web applications and services.
  • Help build, maintain, and expand automated testing frameworks and regression suites.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies to ensure quality is incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Analyze test results and communicate quality risks, issues, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
  • Support testing of APIs, backend services, and web applications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in test processes, automation, and quality standards.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues when needed.
  • Ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and customer expectations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software quality assurance.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing.
  • Experience testing web-based applications and mobile applications in a fast-paced software development environment.
  • Hands-on experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and regression testing.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to validate data across systems.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.
  • Basic experience working in Linux/Unix environments and using command-line tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing cloud-based or SaaS applications.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and quality practices within modern software delivery processes.
  • Experience with performance, load, or security testing tools.
  • Familiarity with AdTech, eCommerce, or digital marketing platforms.

The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000

This position is hybrid, 2 days/week in our Santa Monica office.
