Job summary

STULZ Air Technology Systems, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive quality processes and methods across Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, Design Engineering and Production.

You will apply Lean/Six Sigma to reduce waste and improve delivery performance, while developing data-driven actions to enhance product quality. The role requires a BS in a relevant field and 3+ years in quality systems, with strong communication and problem‑solving skills to support continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Quality Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Systems.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 processes and procedures.
  • Experience with problem-solving and corrective action development and management with a teamwork approach and customer relationship.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ISO 9001:2015 program compliance.
  • Develop, qualify, improve, and document quality processes and methods.
  • Interface with Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, Design Engineering, and Production to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste, variation, lead-time, and costs.
  • Lead quality improvement projects for new products, processes, and technologies.
  • Capture data for analysis to drive quality improvements.

Job description

Summary: The Quality Engineer works with cross-functional resources to develop, qualify, continuously improve, and document Quality processes and methods to enable and ensure all process outputs meet customer expectations. The Quality Engineer proactively supports all aspects of STULZ to improve Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compliance of ISO 9001:2015 program.
  • Develop, qualify, continuously improve, and document Quality processes and methods.
  • Interface with Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, Design Engineering, and Production teams to ensure Quality and Business processes are capable of customer on-time delivery and satisfaction.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods and techniques to eliminate waste and reduce process variation of manufacturing, office, supplier performance, and field service processes and deliverables to improve quality, on-time delivery, reduce lead-time, and reduce costs.
  • Lead projects to improve the quality of new products, processes and technologies throughout the organization
  • Develop methods, processes, and procedures to capture data for analysis to facilitate quality improvements
  • Conduct formal assessments of internal and external processes.
  • Coordinate company internal activities for the resolution of customer complaints and concerns
  • Prepare and maintain corrective and preventive actions for quality opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • ISO Quality systems and requirements
  • Quality processes and systems in a Custom Configured, High Mix - Low Volume, Make-to-Order business
  • Sheet Metal fabrication, welding, pipe brazing, powder coating, wiring, and assembly processes familiarity
  • SAP manufacturing and quality software compitency
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Risk management techniques
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
Education/Experience:
  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Quality Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Systems
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 processes and procedures
  • Experience in complex quality initiatives including new product development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including good persuasion skills
  • Experience with problem-solving and corrective action development and management with a teamwork approach and customer relationship. Statistical techniques, Process Control charts, data collection and analysis for problem resolution.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • ASQ QE Certification
  • ASQ Auditor Certification
  • Lean Sigma Black Belt
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and understand English instructions.
