Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking a Quality Engineer in Berea, KY to ensure seamless implementation of engineering and supplier changes and to drive process improvements.

The role focuses on risk assessment, validation, and adherence to internal quality standards and customer requirements, while minimizing production disruptions. Responsibilities include leading quality aspects of changes, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, maintaining quality documentation, and monitoring KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, supply chain or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in quality engineering or change management in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of PPAP, APQP, MSA and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality during launch of new programs and change management.
• Lead quality aspects of engineering and supplier changes following site and global standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and validate quality changes before implementation.
• Update quality documentation (Control plans, FMEA, WI) per internal standards and customer requirements including PPAP.
• Monitor Quality KPIs and report to Quality manager.
• Conduct advanced problem solving using 8D and 8-step methods to reduce defects.
• Support containment and disposition of non-conforming material.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and customer requirements; respond to concerns using 8D.

Job description

Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring seamless implementation of engineering changes, supplier changes and process improvements in current production. Role focus on risk assessment, validation and compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements while minimizing production disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Assuring Quality during launch of new programs and change management:
• Lead quality aspects of engineering changes and supplier changes by following site and global standards
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain) to assess and validate quality changes before implementation by monitoring quality metrics and performing validation testing.
• Ensure all quality documentation (Control plans, FMEA, WI, etc.) is updated accordingly following both internal standards and external customer requirements including PPAP
• Monitoring of Quality KPI’s
• Monitoring of quality KPI’s of both internal and customer metrics by reporting to Quality manager and organization
• Production and Supplier Quality Support
• Lead advanced structured problem solving by using 8-Step and 8D methodology to drive down priority defects
• Support quality spill containment activities and disposition of both non-conforming and unapproved material to our internal and customer requirements
• Customer and Compliance Requirements
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, AIAG Core Tools and interna Quality Management System
• Respond to customer concerns related to quality following 8D methodology.
• Support internal/external customer meetings and visits

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Preferred 3-5 years' experience in Quality Engineering or Change Management in manufacturing.
• Technical knowledge:
• Strong understanding of core tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA and SPC)
