Job Responsibilities:
3 + years as a Software Quality Assurance Lead.
Experience in managing software/application testing for the Insurance industry. Specialty and Commercial LOBs experience implementing new products and platforms is strongly preferred.
Knowledge in Automation Testing Tools like Client QTP, Selenium, etc. is preferred, specifically how they are used in UI, Forms, and Rating testing.
Strong software engineering and development lifecycle knowledge.
Strong hands-on experience with planning and testing UI as well as back-office systems that require Web services or batch-based integrations and implementations.
Knowledge with performance testing tools (LoadRunner, AppLoader, etc.) as well as data profiling for representative load testing is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft TFS and Test Manager (MTM) for test management is preferred.
Quality Assurance leadership experience with Guidewire Insurance solutions is highly preferred.
Lead several IT Quality Assurance teams through a clearly defined process-driven methodology to ensure project goals, QA standards, and internal best practices are routinely and meticulously followed.
Partner with Business and Development teams to review business/technical requirements and guide and assist QA testers in generating comprehensive test strategy, plans, impact analysis, and test cases for effective assurance and testing functions.
Manage QA capacity and resources and schedule QA activities and quality gates for their project teams.
Through contribution, help define and establish new sets of best practices, processes, scorecards, and tooling for the Quality Assurance organization. This is to ensure that overall productivity and quality are measured to optimize targeted milestones.
Collaborate with the Automation Lead(s) to establish a standards-based automation and performance testing competency, including developing a robust testing framework, utilizing testing and test management tools, and creating test data and test cases for key applications across the portfolio.
Develop and maintain functional, end-to-end, performance, and regression test suites that thoroughly cover all aspects of applications across the portfolio.
Ensure comprehensive impact analysis is conducted and reviewed thoroughly to identify the right test cases that cover relevant exposures in collaboration with project stakeholders.
Plan, execute, manage, and report on all testing and assurance activities across projects and applications.
Publish standardized QA productivity metrics, as well as project and release testing status reports, across all projects and applications on a weekly or recurring basis.
Serve as a critical resource in maintaining the smooth operation of production systems and play a pivotal role in cutovers, smoke testing, triaging, and release activities.
Manage the overall QA project plan, including resource and capacity profiles for assigned business lines. Collaborate with application and project managers periodically to review plan changes, variations, and actuals against forecasts.
Recommend new technologies, processes, and procedures to continuously improve the overall Quality Assurance function.
Provide ongoing training and guidance to the QA team on quality standards and practices.
