POSITION TITLE: Quality Assurance Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports organizational quality, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives through clinical audits, monitoring activities, data validation, and process improvement efforts. This position collaborates closely with clinical leadership to assess adherence to policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Additionally, the coordinator provides operational and project management support for technology and informatics initiatives that impact clinical workflows, serving as a liaison between clinical teams, Quality, IT, and Informatics departments to ensure successful adoption and implementation of process improvements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clinical Quality Assurance & Auditing (70-80%)
  • Conduct routine and targeted audits of clinical documentation, processes, and operational workflows.
  • Review audit findings, identify trends, and communicate results to leadership and clinical teams.
  • Assist in developing corrective action plans and monitor follow-up activities.
  • Maintain audit schedules, trackers, and quality dashboards.
  • Analyze quality data to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Support Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and performance improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to ensure consistency in documentation and process adherence.
  • Prepare reports and presentations related to audit findings, compliance trends, and quality metrics.
  • Monitor compliance with organizational policies, payer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Project Management & Support (20-30%)
  • Provide coordination support for IT, Informatics, and technology-related initiatives impacting clinical operations.
  • Assist project leaders with project planning, meeting coordination, documentation, and timeline tracking.
  • Track project milestones, action items, risks, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate communication between clinical stakeholders and IT/Informatics teams.
  • Assist with workflow assessments and process mapping related to system implementations and enhancements.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), issue tracking, and implementation readiness activities.
  • Monitor post-implementation outcomes and gather feedback to support continuous improvement.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in the annual evaluation of the quality and performance improvement plan.
  • Facilitate the development and dissemination of clinical knowledge and research that supports coordinated, resource efficient quality outcomes.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with clinical staff, leadership, and other administrative staff.
  • Must participate in the Compliance Program Initiatives and reporting as needed.
  • Must follow the organization’s Code of Conduct
  • Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare quality, compliance, clinical operations, auditing, or related healthcare environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Health Information Management, Business Administration, Quality Management, or related field.
  • Experience analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Experience in NextGen Preferred
