Job summary

State Street is seeking a Software Quality Assurance and Automation Engineer to contribute to functional and automation testing within an agile scrum team. You will test challenging financial products using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and React/TypeScript, and you will create backend and frontend automation scripts to ensure defect-free releases.

The role requires detail-oriented, proactive individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to participate in code reviews and agile

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions.
• Experience with testing tools like TestNG, Tosca.
• Knowledge on Java, Spring Boot, Kafka for Backend Testing using Cucumber/TestNG.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to test software enhancements and solutions within the business and technical problem domains.
• Test software programs, applications and projects using cloud computing using Java, SQL, Spring boot, Kafka and ReactJS/TypeScript or equivalent frameworks.
• Write Automation Scripts for Backend + Front End functional/Regression/Performance and End to End test to deliver defect free product.
• Participate in test code reviews.
• Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the scrum methodology including attending all daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Triage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed and come up with solutions

As SQA and Automation engineer you will

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge on Java, Spring boot, Kafka for Backend Testing using Cucumber/TestNG


• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field


• Knowledgeable of commercial software development Testing


• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills


• Ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector (Math background highly desirable)


• Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment


• Experience working with an Agile development methodology is desired


• Experience to use AI for automation

Additional Requirements

• Ability to analyze business requirements and develop solutions to the business needs


• Strong communication skills, self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly responsible.


• Strong collaboration skills, working with multiple teams in various locations in an agile environment.

Work Requirement

• Onsite 4 days a week in office and one day remote


• Standard business hours aligned to project and stakeholder needs(8am to 5pm)

Salary Range

$70,000 - $118,750 Annual
