An established industry player is seeking a Quality Assurance Aircraft Structures Inspector to ensure the highest standards of workmanship in aircraft assembly. Description: This role involves inspecting structural, electrical, plumbing assemblies, sub-assemblies, bench assemblies, functional installations, and components for workmanship and conformance to requirements. Responsibilities include final assembly and mating of airplane structural components, installation of functional units and systems, and conducting shakedown and operational checkout of completed aircraft and components prior to flight line transfer. The inspector rejects unacceptable items and prepares documentation for their disposition.
Additional duties include inspecting sealing operations on integral wing tanks, ensuring conformance to design and specifications; inspecting final washing, priming, painting, and internal trimming operations; and verifying the alignment, attachments, workmanship, and conformance of structural assemblies and functional systems. The inspector conducts full compartment shakedown, inspects final operational checkout under simulated flight conditions, and approves or rejects items accordingly.
Must hold current Inspection certifications as per company policy and Quality Control Manual. The role also involves inspecting bonding, pressure testing operations, and spot-welded parts for workmanship and conformity.
Basic Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of four years of experience, which may include military aircraft structures quality assurance, aircraft assembly, structures, electrical or hydraulics installation experience, or relevant training and certifications. Specific offsets apply for certain qualifications like completion of technical courses or passing certification exams. Successful completion of the Lockheed Martin Q&MS Inspection examination and ability to meet Human Factors requirements are necessary.
