Automotive Manufacturing | Battery Systems | Quality Assurance
Are you a quality-driven leader with experience in automotive manufacturing, battery systems, or quality engineering? We are seeking a Quality Assistant Manager to support and drive quality excellence within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, process compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout production operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and execute Product Validation (PV) testing and production quality validation activities.
- Manage quality validation activities for battery system assembly and production operations.
- Conduct audits and inspections to identify risks, nonconformities, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Support pilot production activities including ISIR, PPAP, and related quality documentation.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate customer complaints, quality issues, and production incidents.
- Lead root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and corrective action processes.
- Analyze quality metrics, process data, and customer feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve overall product quality and operational performance.
- Support initiatives focused on customer satisfaction, manufacturing excellence, and process optimization.
- Support supplier quality management and supplier development activities.
- Participate in customer audits, supplier audits, and internal quality system audits.
- Respond promptly to customer quality concerns and assist with resolution efforts.
- Help maintain strong customer relationships through effective quality support and issue resolution.
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to Quality Technicians, Inspectors, and Validation Operators.
- Coordinate work assignments, training activities, and quality priorities.
- Coach and mentor team members while supporting their professional development.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Supplier Quality teams to improve performance and resolve quality concerns.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, battery systems, quality engineering, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with:
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action processes
- FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Control Plans and quality documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or battery manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA standards, and automotive quality requirements.
- Experience in xEV or EV battery manufacturing.
- Experience using testing and measurement equipment such as:
- Tensile strength testers
- Leak testers
- 3D scanning equipment (Hexagon or similar)
