Job summary

Elanco, located in Clinton, IN, is seeking an Environmental Control Laboratory Technician to perform precise wastewater testing, support the EC Lab, and ensure compliance with GMP and safety guidelines. This role includes spill response, instrument maintenance, and documentation updates in a regulated environment.

The candidate will contribute to DMRQA and WET testing, operate lab equipment, and help sustain accurate records while working a 3am-3pm shift with potential night training.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Analytical laboratory or wastewater experience.
• Top Skills: Strong documentation and organizational skills with the ability to maintain interpersonal communication in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling, testing, and operation of the site’s waste treatment unit while proactively following all safety and PPE requirements.
• Recognize and respond to spill events by identifying releases to the discharge stream and operating the spill capture system to ensure containment.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on lab instrumentation including standardization and QA conformance checks.
• Maintain and update SOPs, GPs, and OPs to ensure procedural compliance and accurate documentation of laboratory methods.
• Support investigations into incidents affecting the lab and contribute to annual DMRQA and WET testing through data entry and validation in the DMS system.

Your Role: Environmental Control Laboratory Technician

As an EC Laboratory Technician, you will perform accurate, precise, and timely testing of laboratory samples in accordance with approved methods within GMP and safety guidelines. You will be responsible for supporting the Environmental Control Lab through wastewater discharge assays, spill response containment, and meeting NPDES compliance reporting requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience: Analytical laboratory or wastewater experience.

• Top Skills: Strong documentation and organizational skills with the ability to maintain interpersonal communication in a team environment.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):

• Experience with Gas Chromatograph, Total Organic Carbon Analyzer, and Karl Fisher Analyzer instrumentation.

• Background in wastewater and environmental laboratory assays.

• Accurate and proficient analytical skills with a strong foundation in math.

• Ability to work effectively within a heavily regulated environment.

• Class A or B Wastewater Certification.

• Location: Clinton, IN - On-site

• Shift: 3am-3pm (may requiring training on nights)
