Job summary

Accredo Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assistant to support the Quality Department in managing the Non-Conforming Product Program and assisting with quality and food safety compliance through audits, documentation, and recordkeeping. The hourly rate is $18/hour.

The role is primarily on-site in Sugar Land, TX. Responsibilities include dispositioning NC material in ERP, preparing investigation packets, and conducting monthly audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of quality, food safety, manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel) desired.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Quality Assistant supports the Quality Department by managing the internal Non-Conforming Product Program and assisting with quality and food safety compliance through internal audits, documentation, and recordkeeping. Hourly rate: $18/hour

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and document all pertinent information related to non-conforming product placed on hold, including samples, photographs, and additional details.
• Review non-conforming product with the Quality Manager and other relevant personnel and conduct additional investigation as needed, including communicating with Production employees and Managers.
• Physically identify, disposition, and move material from the Non-Conforming Product (NC) Area following approved instructions.
• Electronically disposition material in the ERP system, which may include releasing or blocking product, adjusting quantities, deleting inventory records, and making other approved system updates.
• Create and distribute quality investigation packets to the appropriate Department Manager.
• Conduct monthly food safety and site security audits in accordance with established procedures and checklists.
• File and maintain cleaning records for each production department.
• Maintain accurate and organized quality records and documentation.
• Communicate quality or food safety concerns to the Quality Manager or appropriate department personnel.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of experience in quality, food safety, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred but not required.

Skills

• Intermediate to advanced computer operation and typing skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and web-based software, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
• Basic knowledge of quality control and/or quality assurance procedures preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to make timely decisions and follow established procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual proficiency in Vietnamese and/or Spanish is an advantage.
• Ability to use and read basic measuring devices, such as rulers and pi tape, as needed.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and managers across multiple departments.

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Frequently bend, reach, push, and pull. Spend approximately 50% of the workday standing and walking and 50% sitting and working at a computer. Work around moving industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.

This is a primarily on-site, office-based position, with duties performed at the designated work location.
