Job summary

Nortera in Brockport, NY, is hiring for a Quality Assurance role at our frozen vegetable packaging plant. Join a team that helps prepare products enjoyed by families across North America and gain new skills while contributing to food safety and quality.

You will conduct audits, perform inspections, collect samples, and document findings using electronic systems. No prior experience is required; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required; quality or food manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate record keeping.
• Basic understanding of statistical weight analysis (averages, variance).
• Good communication, teamwork and computer skills.
• Ability to work 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product quality audits and grade checks at intervals.
• Perform quality and food safety inspections (metal detection, seals, coding).
• Collect samples and verify pre-operational sanitation.
• Document inspection results and calibrations in electronic systems.
• Communicate quality concerns and hold products when needed.
• Support and coach production while following GMPs and SQF.

Pay Range: $21 to $23 USD

The Role

• Conduct product quality audits and grade checks at regular intervals, including package and case weight verification.
• Perform quality and food safety inspections, including metal detection, package seals, coding, and packaging materials.
• Collect microbiological samples and complete pre-operational sanitation verification.
• Accurately document inspection results, calibrations, and quality findings using electronic systems.
• Communicate quality concerns promptly and place product on hold when specifications are not met.
• Support and coach production employees while ensuring compliance with GMPs, SQF standards, food safety, and company safety requirements.

Your Profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required; quality or food manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record and document information.
• Basic understanding of statistical weight analysis, including averages, mean, median, and allowable variance.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills with the ability to learn quality systems and software.
• Ability to work 6:00 PM TO 6:00 AM, including weekends
