Job summary

GradePower Learning Chesapeake is seeking a part-time SAT/ACT Prep Instructor to help students boost math and English skills after school.

You will teach in-person, up to three students at a time, follow GradePower methodologies, and provide timely notes and updates while maintaining a friendly professional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Some tutoring/teaching experience at 9th–12th grade level.
• Strong English and math knowledge; ability to guide student understanding.

Responsibilities

SAT/ACTPrep Instructor

GradePower Learning Chesapeake is looking for an upbeat reliable, enthusiastic, dynamic part-time tutor who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment.

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers, equations, andlanguage and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

SAT/ACT tutoring experience - own grades in the 90th percentile required.

Tutors at GradePower Learningdo not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

All Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school and evening hours, as well as Saturdays. A commitment until the end of theschool year in June is preferred. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Background checkis mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Collegestudents with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Strong knowledge of the current 9th to 12th grade math curriculum
• Strong English grades

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type: Part-time (approximate hours/week 4-10)

Salary Range: $20-23 per hour- based on previous exeperience and education

Schedule:

• Schedule based on client availability within the following:
• Monday-Thursday = 3:30-7pm
• Saturday = 10-2pm
