Job summary

The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City is seeking a Qualified Nutritionist to join our Team for the WIC Program. The role involves leading nutrition services, developing care plans, and coordinating education and support for high-risk participants.

Candidates should have a degree in Nutrition and strong communication skills; RD/RDN is a plus. Bilingual abilities in French-Creole or Spanish are preferred to serve a diverse community.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• May conduct all duties of QN, CPA, Nutrition Assistant and Program Support staff.
• Develop and implement ICPs and oversee high-risk care for participants.
• Provide oversight and guidance to CPA, Nutrition Assistant, and Program Support staff.
• Coordinate nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support, tailored to high-risk participants.
• Refer high-risk participants to other health-related and social services as needed.
• Track participants’ progress and document outcomes.

QUALIFIED NUTRITIONIST

Looking for a Qualified Nutritionist to join our Team at Brooklyn Hospital Center WIC Program

Responsibilities

• May conduct all duties of QN, CPA, Nutrition Assistant and Program Support staff


• Develop and implement individual care plans (ICPs) and oversee high risk care to all participants


• Provide oversight and guidance to CPA, Nutrition Assistant, and Program Support staff


• Coordinate nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support, that is responsive to the identified needs/interests of each high-risk participant


• Refer high-risk participants to other health-related and social services, as necessary


• Track high-risk participants’ progress in improving their health and document for outcomes


• Ensure the efficient flow of the assessment and education processes


• Provide leadership in planning, conducting, and evaluating participant-centered nutrition services
  
• Provide leadership and assist in orienting, training and mentoring new local agency (LA) staff


• Provide leadership in developing, conducting and evaluating nutrition training for LA staff in nutrition education topics


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Nutrition from an accredited college or university


• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) is a plus


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Bilingual preferred especially in French-Creole and/or Spanish


• Bilingual in other languages is a plus


• Previous Experience in WIC and/or NYWIC is a plus
