Job summary

Franciscan Ministries is seeking a Medication Aide for the 2nd shift to oversee the administration of medications to residents and assist with general personal care as needed. The role includes documenting meds, supervising self-administration where applicable, and following nurses’ orders.

Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, 1+ year caregiving experience, and possible Medication Aide Certification depending on state regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ years caregiving or related clinical experience.
• Licenses/Certifications may be required depending on state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document medication according to policies and procedures.
• Supervise self-administration of medication when applicable.
• Complete treatments according to nurses’ orders.
• Provide personal care assistance/services as required.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
• Attend a minimum of 12 in-service education hours annually.
• Promote dignity and well-being of residents and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and updates.

In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of administration of medication to residents, as well as assisting residents with general, personal care as needed. We are looking for 2nd shift position, we offer great shift differential.

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

• Administer and document medication according to the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Supervise the self-administration of medication when applicable.
• Complete and perform all treatments according to policy standards and nurses’ orders.
• Provide personal care assistance/services as required or instructed.
• Observe and report any changes in resident’s physical/emotional condition.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Attend a minimum of 12 annual hours of in-service education.
• Promote and respect the dignity and well-being of each resident and their family.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Licenses/Certifications: Medication Aide Certification may be required depending on state regulations

Experience: 1+ years of caregiving or other related clinical experience
