Oakmont Management Group, based in Irvine, California, seeks a Medication Technician for The Ivy Mountain View. The role involves supervising and assisting in medication administration, providing direct personal care, and supporting residents' activities within established nursing standards.

Qualifications include at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1 year of medication assistance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of experience assisting with medication in a RCFE or similar setting (preferred).
• Based on state regulations, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• VLN certification is a plus.
• Ability to operate Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs; strong customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Criminal background check and health screening tests, including TB testing, are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians.

The Medication Technician

is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
