Job summary

Job description

Summary

Cares for residents at this community by performing the following duties.

ADLs

• Assist resident with dressing as needed.
• Assist resident with grooming, hair, makeup and teeth as needed.
• Assist resident with showers or baths.
• Assist resident with ambulation, standby or wheelchair.
• Assist residents who need cuing and reminding of schedule.

Dining Room

• Assist residents to and from dining room if needed.
• Serve meal appropriate to your shift.
• Assist residents with cutting food as needed.
• Observe individual resident’s dietary restrictions.

General Duties

• Conform to required dress code.

Housekeeping

• Help residents with light housekeeping by emptying wastebaskets, discarding old newspapers, making beds, unscheduled laundry PRN.

Medications

• Upon completion of med certification class, R.A.s distribute medications.
• Document each med pass indicating R.A. observed resident taking the medications.

Documentation

• All changes in the resident’s physical or mental condition are documented in the resident’s record and with an Incident Report or Resident Concern Memo if needed.
