Job summary

Miller’s Health Systems in Indiana is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to deliver basic patient care, administer medications, and document care. You will work closely with nurses and other staff to support patient conditions and treatment plans.

This full-time role (2pm-10pm) requires Indiana QMA certification and a professional, team-oriented approach. Prior long-term care experience is preferred; maintain neat appearance and adhere to safety and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Certified as a Qualified Medication Assistant by the State of Indiana.
• Successful completion of required training and practicum.
• Pass the Qualified Medication Assistant exam.
• Registered with State Department of Public Instruction as applicable.
• Meet all Nurse Assistant qualifications and fit for long-term care work.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to patients and record related documentation.
• Provide basic care and assist patients with daily activities.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the nursing team.

As a QMA, you provide basic care to patients and assist them in their daily activities. You administer medications to patients and record related documentation. You watch for changes in your patients and quickly report them to the team of nurses that work with you. You collect and record information vital to the patients’ conditions and treatment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Resident Care Assistant and Medication Assistant Training courses.
• Successful completion of the 60 hour Qualified Medication Assistant course and the 40 hour practicum.
• Pass the Qualified Medication Assistant exam.
• Certified as a Qualified Medicine Assistant by the State of Indiana.
• Registered with State Department of Public Instruction.
• Meet all qualifications for Nurse Assistant.
• Proven ability and experience as a resident care assistant.
• Experience in long term care preferred.
• Follow instructions.
• Communicate verbally and in writing.
• Is neat, well groomed and professional.
• Pass the physical examination required at employment.
