Job summary

Sunrise Community Health in Evans, CO, is seeking a Quality Improvement Coordinator / MA Trainer to drive operational and clinical process improvements. The role includes implementing QI initiatives, evaluating workflows, and educating staff on data-driven quality systems.

You will work with clinic leadership to onboard new clinical staff, develop competency checks, and mentor medical assistants and clinical support personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • 1–3 years of related experience or equivalent training; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and evaluate quality improvement processes in clinical and operational areas.
  • Identify trends, prioritize improvements, and reduce workflow duplication.
  • Develop and educate staff on patient data systems for QI reporting and outcomes dashboards.
  • Assist with onboarding and competency checks for clinical support staff and medical assistants.

Quality Improvement Coordinator / MA Trainer

The Quality Improvement Coordinator / Trainer will be responsible for implementing and evaluating processes in operational and clinical areas. This coordinator will work to identify trends, prioritize, and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure staff are properly executing workflows. Works closely with the organizational and clinic leadership to develop, monitor, and educate others on the use of patient data systems that drive improvement and reporting of patient outcomes using data and dashboards. The Coordinator will also assist with the onboarding and assessing skills of new clinical support employees, as well training and mentoring in the internal Medical Assistant and Clinical Support Staff program.

Position Summary

With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Quality Improvement Coordinator / MA Trainer will:

  • Promotes a culture including safety, high-reliability, patient and staff engagement, and excellent performance.
  • Works with the Sunrise Training Manager to complete annual competency checks for clinical support staff, including medical assistants.
  • Provides training and mentoring in the internal medical assistant and clinical support staff program.
  • Assists with the onboarding and competency checks for new medical assistants and clinical support staff.
  • Works with campus leadership and staff to identify and document efficient workflows to meet organizational goals.
  • Assists in educating new staff, including physicians, about Quality Improvement (QI) systems and requirements.
  • Coordinates with management in the development, implementation, and revision of the campuses QI program to meet the needs of patients, staff, and external agencies.
  • Provides QI leadership and consultative services to campus leadership and clinic care team members, effectively achieving PCMH recognition organizational compliance for QI activities.
  • Organizes, compiles, and reports QI data for each clinic and the campus to identify trends, establish priorities, and recommend improvement activities.
  • Performs comprehensive, concurrent, and retrospective reviews of data in a timely manner, using criteria developed and approved by the Chief Medical Office, and Chief Quality Officer.
  • Develops, evaluates, and maintains quality dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Serves as a working member of the system's quality committee; attends All staff department and committee meetings and other pertinent meetings to ensure the campuses overall QI plan implementation and compliance is in line with the system.
  • Keeps abreast of current PCMH standards and other accreditation standards, and the latest quality techniques in health care.
  • Maintains current competency and expertise in quality and patient safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED),
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • 1-3 years related on the job experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
