Qualifications

• Must hold a current Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification issued by NAESA/NASEA or related bodies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear code interpretation and reporting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elevator and conveyance industry principles and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret ASME codes, local ordinances, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of elevators, escalators, moving walks, and other conveyance systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes.
• Conduct acceptance, annual, periodic, alteration, repair, and special inspections per ASME standards and jurisdiction requirements.
• Document findings thoroughly, identify violations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit complete inspection reports to AHJ, property owners, and internal offices.
• Interpret and apply code intent to ensure defensible compliance determinations.
• Communicate inspection findings clearly to owners, contractors, mechanics, and stakeholders.
