Job summary

ChemTreat, a Veralto company, is seeking a QC Technician II to perform analytical testing and manage equipment maintenance in the Quality department in Ashland, VA. This on-site role supports quality control processes and regulatory compliance.

The position reports to the Quality Control Manager and operates on a 1pm-9pm shift with a chance to contribute to a growing team and develop Laboratory skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry or physical science preferred.
  • 2–4 years’ experience with laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance, calibration, standardization, and inventory of chemicals and analytical lab equipment as directed by the QC manual.
  • Perform testing, inspection, disposition, and documentation of bulk and finished products as directed by the QC manual.
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of non-conforming material.
  • Generate Certificates of Analysis for all plants and drop-ship material.
  • Test and adjust waste tank material; log samples and distribute results.
  • Filing and resolving vendor discrepancies and documenting all activity.

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager the QC Technician II is responsible for performing analytical testing of materials to determine quality acceptance as per the QC manual and the direction of management. This position also manages the maintenance of equipment and records as per the QC manual and the direction of management.

This position is part of the Quality department located in Ashland, VAand will be on-site.

Schedule: 1pm-9pm, Monday-Friday

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Manages the maintenance, calibration, standardization, and inventory of chemicals and analytical laboratory equipment as directed by the QC manual.
  • Using proper handling techniques, bulk raw material, packaged raw material, and finished product testing, inspection, disposition, and documentation as directed by the QC manual.
  • Ensure proper handling, notification, evaluation and documentation of Non-conforming material.
  • Generates Certificates of Analysis for all three plants and drop-ship material.
  • Tests and adjusts the waste tank material.
  • Sample log in and distribution.
  • Filing and resolving vendor discrepancies and documenting all activity

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry or physical science discipline preferred.
  • 2-4 years’ experience with laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of computers.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $24.50 - $25.50 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
