Job summary

ZING in Norwood, NJ is seeking a detail-oriented QC Technician to join our quality team. This role focuses on hands-on testing, documentation, and ensuring all products meet our quality standards before release.

The ideal candidate has a Chemistry background with 1+ years in a QC lab, experience with GC, refractive index, and COA generation, and a strong eye for detail while working cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of QC laboratory experience.
• Experience testing raw materials and finished products.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Basic sensory or olfactive evaluation skills.
• Experience handling chemicals and following lab safety procedures.
• Familiar with analytical lab equipment and testing methods.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Test incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform laboratory testing including GC, Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, and Melting Point.
• Conduct basic sensory and olfactive evaluations.
• Generate COAs and specification documentation.
• Review and approve products for release.
• Investigate out-of-specification materials and testing results.
• Assist with customer complaints and quality investigations.
• Maintain accurate QC laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow established chemical handling and laboratory safety procedures.
• Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other teams.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment.

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays

Salary: $60,000-$68,000 annually

What You'll Do

• Test incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet specifications
• Perform laboratory testing including Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Melting Point, and Gas Chromatography (GC)
• Conduct basic sensory and olfactive evaluations
• Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and specification documentation
• Review and approve products for release
• Investigate out-of-specification materials and testing results
• Assist with customer complaints and quality investigations
• Maintain accurate QC laboratory records and documentation
• Follow established chemical handling and laboratory safety procedures
• Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other internal teams
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience is required
• 1+ years of QC laboratory experience
• Experience testing raw materials and finished products
• Strong laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills
• Basic sensory or olfactive evaluation skills
• Experience handling chemicals and following laboratory safety procedures
• Familiarity with analytical laboratory equipment and testing methods
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work occasional Saturdays as needed
