Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a QC Scientist I in Florence, SC to perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses supporting GMP-compliant manufacturing operations. You will work with advanced analytical instruments to test raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples, contributing to quality and patient safety.

The role involves a 12-hour day shift (7 AM – 7 PM), with a 2-on/2-off pattern and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field.
• No prior experience required.
• Proficiency with analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, dissolution testing, and wet chemistry methods.
• Experience with microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and aseptic techniques.
• Knowledge of GMP regulations, documentation practices, and pharmaceutical quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail with data integrity in lab notebooks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct day-to-day testing activities including chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses.
• Complete accurate documentation and reporting duties in GMP-compliant manner.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA, and Research & Development to support production goals and quality objectives.
• Perform equipment maintenance and calibration tasks to ensure analytical instruments are in proper working condition.
• Participate in investigations to identify root causes of out-of-specification results or testing anomalies.
• Support training responsibilities including onboarding new team members and sharing technical expertise with colleagues.
