Actalent is seeking a Quality Control Scientist I for a contract-to-hire role in Berkeley, MO. The successful candidate will perform HPLC/UPLC analyses for release, stability, and method validation, and will document data in accordance with GMP standards.

The QC Scientist I performs analytical testing to support drug substance and drug product release, stability studies, and method validation activities in a GMP-regulated laboratory. This role utilizes HPLC, UPLC, and related analytical techniques to generate accurate, compliant data while supporting pharmaceutical quality control operations. It's an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career scientists looking to develop expertise in analytical chemistry and GMP environments.
Perform HPLC, UPLC, and other analytical testing for release, stability, and validation studies.
Analyze, document, and report laboratory data in accordance with GMP requirements.
Identify and communicate out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
Support method validation, qualification, and transfer activities.
Author and revise SOPs, test methods, and laboratory documentation.
Maintain laboratory safety, organization, and compliance standards.
Collaborate with QC teams, project managers, and clients to support testing priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
Hands‑on experience with HPLC, UPLC, chromatography, or other analytical instrumentation through industry experience, internships, co‑ops, research, or laboratory coursework.
Strong understanding of analytical laboratory techniques and scientific principles.
Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
Experience in a GMP, GLP, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology laboratory.
Experience with SEC, CEX, peptide mapping, glycan analysis, or similar assays.
Familiarity with EMPOWER or other chromatography software.
Experience with method validation, stability testing, or laboratory investigations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berkeley, MO.
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
