Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a focused asphalt lab technician to perform density tests and roller pattern assessments on plant-produced mix in accordance with NCDOT specifications. The role requires precise data collection, record-keeping and timely reporting.

Qualifications include 1+ year in an asphalt lab, valid driver's license, and good math/communication skills. NCDOT certification is preferred but training is available for the right candidate.

• Maintain accurate records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and report accurate results in a timely manner.
• Operate and maintain density gauge equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using computer systems.

Perform accurate testing duties and properly prepare, maintain, and report accurate results in a timely manner.Minimum Qualifications & Training:1 year experience or more in an asphalt lab.Ability to abide by and communicate precise instructions.NCDOT Certification preferred, but not required. Willing to train the right person.Perform Nuclear/Conventional Density test on roadway asphalt material.
