Job summary

Atrium is seeking a detail-oriented QC Microbiologist to join a highly regulated manufacturing site in the United States. The role focuses on microbial testing of in-process and finished goods to ensure products meet regulatory and quality standards before reaching consumers.

The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of aseptic technique and media handling, with the ability to work independently and follow procedures to completion in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of aseptic technique, media preparation, and culture handling.
• Experience preparing media, maintaining cultures, and disposing of biological waste properly.
• Capacity to work independently, following instructions and standard procedures to completion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbial testing on incoming raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods.
• Keep thorough, organized records of testing activities using digital systems and/or physical logbooks.
• Evaluate and interpret microbiological results with attention to accuracy.
• Communicate findings clearly to lab leadership and relevant departments.
• Prepare growth media, conduct growth promotion testing, and log all related activities.
• Safely dispose of biological waste and spent media per internal protocols.
• Track and manage laboratory supply inventory.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment, including autoclaves, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Stay current on emerging tools and methods in microbiological testing.
• Take on additional tasks as needed to support lab operations.
