The candidate will perform physical/chemical analyses, operate HPLC/GC/KF/UV instruments, and lead investigations to document OOS findings while maintaining strict cGMP adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 5+ years pharma QC lab experience.
• Hands-on finished product and stability testing experience required.
• Strong ability to operate and troubleshoot HPLC, GC, KF, UV instruments.
• Previous floor supervisory or team support in a cGMP environment.
• Proven technical writing skills for lab investigations.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

This 3-month contract role (with extension potential) offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced analytical scientist to provide floor leadership, maintain testing compliance, and support team priorities in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $50 - 53 per hour

Work Hours: 9 to 5

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and chemical analysis of finished pharmaceutical dosage forms and stability samples following cGMP SOPs.
• Provide floor leadership and operational support, managing daily priorities and assisting lab personnel in a dynamic QC environment.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex laboratory instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer (KF), and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
• Lead technical laboratory investigations and author detailed reports for laboratory incidents and out-of-specification (OOS) findings.
• Ensure strict adherence to cGMP regulations, internal compliance policies, and compendial (USP/EP) standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline with 5+ years of pharmaceutical QC laboratory experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with finished product and stability testing (raw-materials-only background will not qualify).
• Strong technical capability in operating and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, KF, UV).
• Demonstrated floor supervisory or team support experience in a cGMP environment.
• Proven technical writing skills for drafting laboratory investigation reports.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline with 3+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Analytical experience supporting topical, transdermal (TDS), or nasal dosage forms.
