Job summary

Umicore Belgium is seeking a QC Analytical Laboratory Manager to lead our analytical laboratory supporting stationary catalyst manufacturing. You will supervise daily operations, ensure accuracy and traceability of testing, and provide technical leadership for ICP and XRF methods.

The role requires hands-on lab experience, strong data integrity, and collaboration with Manufacturing and R&D. A Bachelor’s or higher in a related field and 5+ years in analytical labs are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum five years in analytical/quality-control lab or catalyst characterization.
• Hands-on ICP and XRF operation, data review and method development.
• Experience leading laboratory personnel and ensuring safe, timely execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day QC analytical lab operations and prioritize work.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and supplies.
• Provide technical leadership for methods and instrumentation (ICP, XRF).
• Oversee testing and release of materials against specs.
• Investigate out-of-spec results and ensure proper follow-up.
• Prepare analysis certificates and QC release documentation.
• Support ISO audits, CAPA, and document updates.
