Job summary

Dexter Magnetic Technologies is seeking a QC Inspector 2 to ensure raw materials, components, and finished products meet quality standards. You will perform visual and dimensional inspections, verify part dimensions with precision tools, and document results in the quality system.

Strong experience with CMMs (MCOSMOS/CALYPSO) and ERP audits is required. Knowledge of GD&T, ISO 9001/AS9100, and first article inspection will help drive continuous improvement and product quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in quality/manufacturing is a plus.
• 2–4 years of quality control inspection experience, preferably in aerospace or medical devices.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators).
• Hands-on experience operating CMMs; MCOSMOS or CALYPSO software preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 or similar QMS; ERP systems experience; Epicor a plus.
• Experience with first article inspection, non-conformance reporting, and in-process auditing.
• AS9102 and Net Inspect experience a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy; independent yet collaborative.
• Excellent communication across Engineering, Production and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace, medical, semiconductor components to verify compliance with requirements and Dexter specifications.
• Perform and approve first piece inspections per internal procedures.
• Document inspection results and prepare customer documentation packets.
• Use precision measuring instruments and CMMs to verify part dimensions.
• Audit in-process documentation and Epicor ERP transactions for accuracy and traceability.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials; coordinate with QC leadership for resolution.
• Support other QC Inspectors and maintain a clean, safe 5S workplace.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
