Qualifications

The key objective of the QC Inspector is to contribute to the growth and profitability of Truvant Health & Beauty by effectively executing Quality Control functions and supporting the Company's commitment to product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Under the general direction of the QC Manager, the QC Inspector is responsible for performing assigned quality functions and has commensurate authority to carry out the responsibilities of the position. The QC Inspector is expected to provide independent quality oversight of production and packaging operations while working collaboratively with Production and other departments to ensure compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), client requirements, and applicable quality standards.

Responsibilities

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for monitoring and verifying that packaging and production operations are performed in compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), client requirements, and applicable quality standards. The QC Inspector provides independent quality oversight throughout the production process by conducting line clearances, verifying cleaning requirements, performing in-process inspections and quality checks, reviewing documentation, collecting required samples, and identifying and escalating quality or compliance concerns.The QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the correct materials are used, packaging activities are completed according to approved specifications and Master Batch Records, and all required quality and production documentation is accurately completed. This position also has the authority to identify, stop, place on hold, reject, or eliminate nonconforming materials or products in accordance with Company procedures and Quality Management requirements.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and Good Manufacturing Practices throughout all production and packaging operations.

Essential Functions
  • Effectively monitor and enforce compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), and applicable client requirements.
  • Oversee and approve production line clearance activities prior to the startup of production.
  • Verify that all applicable Level I and Level II cleaning requirements have been completed in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Execute validation activities as required by approved protocols and Master Batch Records (MBRs).
  • Perform swab testing of packaging equipment and collect samples as required by Company procedures, client requirements, certification requirements, and cleaning validation programs.
  • Verify that the correct bulk product, packaging components, labels, and other materials have been issued and are being used for the applicable production lot.
  • Confirm that packaging operations are completed in accordance with approved specifications, Master Batch Records, and client requirements.
  • Perform and document required in-process quality inspections and checks.
  • Complete all required quality and production documentation accurately, legibly, and in accordance with Company SOPs, Good Documentation Practices, and client requirements.
  • Exercise quality authority to accept, reject, place on hold, or eliminate in-process materials and finished goods when inspection results do not meet approved specifications or requirements.
  • Ensure that all quality and production documentation is properly completed, reviewed, and signed by the appropriate personnel.
  • Investigate and report production, material, inventory, and documentation discrepancies as they arise and elevate issues to Quality Management when required.
  • Collect, identify, label, and account for Company and client samples as specified in the applicable Master Packaging Specifications and Master Batch Records for each lot. Ensure collected samples are delivered to the Quality Office or, when required, shipped with the finished product.
  • Audit packaging lines to ensure personnel are complying with Company procedures and policies, including, but not limited to, Personal Hygiene requirements, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, cGMPs, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Immediately communicate and eliminate quality, food safety, product safety, documentation, or compliance concerns to Quality Management.
Nonessential Functions/Demands
  • Train production personnel and line operators on applicable quality requirements and the proper execution of job responsibilities.
  • Provide support on the production line when required and when such activities do not compromise independent quality oversight responsibilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous quality experience in a manufacturing, packaging, pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, food, cosmetic, or related regulated environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, Good Documentation Practices, and quality inspection procedures preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to accurately complete and review production and quality documentation.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and eliminate quality and compliance issues.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with Production and Quality Management.
