Parsons in Texas is seeking a talented highway/bridge CEI Inspector to verify contractor work, materials, and traffic control on active TxDOT and other agency projects in the Houston and Beaumont areas.

You will monitor on-site activities, perform field sampling and testing of materials, read drawings, and maintain detailed records. This role requires travel across Texas, with some night and weekend shifts and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction inspection, incl. bridge/roadway work.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain TxDOT certifications within 12 months.
• Read and interpret project drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor on-site construction activities.
• Perform field sampling and testing of materials.
• Inspect materials and completed work per plans, specs.
• Inspect traffic control devices and report deficiencies.
• Maintain detailed, accurate daily records.
• Prepare inspection reports.
• Support Senior Inspector and follow supervision guidelines.
• Occasionally work daytime, nighttime, or weekends; travel as needed.
• Complete timesheets and expense reports.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an talented highway/bridge CEI Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to verify contractor work, materials, and traffic control on active TxDOT and other agency projects within the Houston and Beaumont areas to ensure full compliance with plans and specifications.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Monitor on-site construction activities
• Perform field sampling and testing of component materials in accordance with the construction contract
• Inspect materials and completed work in accordance with client’s scope of services (plans, specifications, and special provisions)
• Inspect traffic control devices and equipment; report deficiencies to ensure compliance with standards
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of daily operations and significant events
• Prepare inspection reports
• Participate in the development of job safety practices and observe general job safety practices
• Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns
• Responsible for performing assignments in assisting Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties. Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
• Available to work daytime, nighttime, and/or weekend shifts as required
• Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports
• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent plus 5+ years experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree (requires certificate) having the ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one year.
• Valid Driver’s License and a clear driving record
• Must have or be able to obtain within 12 months some or all of the following certifications, as determined by job assignments: TxDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Specialist Certification (Level 1A / Level 1B), , ACI certification Strength, ACI Certification Grade 1, Materials Analyst Specialist Certification (SB101 / SB102), Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS)
• Possesses excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in full suite of Microsoft office programs and Adobe Acrobat
• Able to read and interpret project drawings and specifications
• Maintains a positive attitude and collaborative spirit
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Position requires walking/standing for extensive periods of time
• May require extensive travel to project sites.

Salary Range: $30.58 - $53.51
