Job summary

Perrigo in New York, NY seeks an experienced Quality Control Laboratory specialist to ensure the quality and compliance of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples. You will prepare solutions and reagents for testing and work with analytical instruments to support manufacturing needs.

You will operate HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV and IR, maintain GMP compliance, and contribute to method transfer/validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
  • 6 years of experience in a pharmaceutical quality control laboratory.
  • Advanced application of cGMP requirements for all data generated by the QC laboratory.
  • Laboratory techniques including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, Empower as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare solutions and reagents for testing.
  • Perform analytical testing to support manufacturing and QA operations.
  • Operate analytical instruments (HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV, IR).
  • Adhere to GMP policies and procedures across the department.
  • Assist with method transfer/validation activities and data integrity.

Description Overview

To ensure the Quality and Compliance of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples by performing laboratory analytical testing relative to the support of Perrigo operations and manufacturing needs. Responsible for preparing solutions and reagents for testing as required. Uses analytical laboratory equipment such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV and IR. Works independently and within team under direction of supervisor to accomplish tasks.

The hourly rate for this role is $36.21.

Scope of the Role

PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES

Typical Problems

Communicating with Supervisor to determine needs and expediting when appropriate, prioritizing tasks to meet these company needs (changes in scheduling due to glassware shortages, equipment malfunction, lack of reagents/supplies). Executes analytical testing for investigation of atypical or out-of-specification results. Adherence to laboratory policies and procedures and GMP requirements across the department.

Most Complex Problems

Troubleshoot analytical instruments independently .

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY

Work with Superviser and team to establish testing priorites.

Decisions referred to others for approval

Purchase of laboratory equipment and other major capital expenditures, reportable results in cases of data requiring laboratory investigation, decisions on procedure interpretation and deviations from procedure, overall staffing decisions, off-site development opportunities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

· Ability to work as a team to achieve desired results and may need to work OT as required.

Experience Required

Bachelor’s or Assocaites Degree in Chemisty or related discipline, with 6 year experience in a pharmaceutical quality control laboratory..

· Advanced application cGMP requirements for all data generated by the QC laboratory.

· Layboratory skills including physical testing, HPLC analysis, GC ananysis,Impurity analysis, UV-Vis, FTIR, Malvern, and Empower as applicable to the work group assigned.

· Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and SAP.

· Executes method transfer/ validation activites following protocol.

· Perfroms process validation testing. Cleaning verification testing following protcols as requires

· Advanced SME knowledge fundamental laboratory techniques and analytical instruments

· Ability to cross- train staff on equipment/lab techniques

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
