Job summary

Hydrite is seeking a QC Chemist to perform quality control analyses on incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials with authority to approve, adjust, or reject as needed. The role requires maintaining records, prioritizing lab tasks, and providing technical support to operations.

Hours for this position are Monday-Thursday from 8:00pm-6:30am. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field and strong English communication are required.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including reading, writing, and speaking in English.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to transfer written and verbal information accurately and enter data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control analysis of incoming, manufacturing and outgoing material with authority to accept, adjust, or reject.
  • Record and maintain analysis records accurately and neatly.
  • Prioritize daily laboratory activities to meet production schedules.
  • Perform instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, and solution preparations.
  • Provide technical support to operations regarding manufacturing adjustments of non-conforming materials and quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean laboratory and adhere to safety SOPPs.
  • Initiate corrective actions on identified non-conforming procedures or practices.
  • Maintain and store sample retains and communicate concerns to supervisor.

QC CHEMIST

The primary purpose of this position is to perform required quality control analysis of incoming, manufacturing and outgoing material with authority to make acceptance, production adjustment, and/or rejection decisions. This position may also provide technical support to operations and sales.

As QC Chemist, primary responsibilities include:
  • Perform required quality control analysis of incoming, manufacturing and outgoing material with authority to make acceptance, production adjustment, and/or rejection decisions.
  • Record and maintain analysis/records accurately, neatly, legibly and completely.
  • Prioritize daily laboratory activities to meet production schedules.
  • Perform instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, solution preparations, and solution standardizations.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to operations/production regarding manufacturing adjustment of non-conforming materials and quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and neat laboratory at all times.
  • Adhere to all safety SOPPs
  • Initiate corrective actions on identified non-capable procedures or practices.
  • Maintain and properly store sample retains.
  • Communicate to supervisor concerns about standard laboratory procedures, operational problems, quality trends, etc.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times, treat others with courtesy and respect, and respond to all requests in a professional manner.
  • Promote complete customer satisfaction through quality and service to both internal and external customers.
  • All staff members are responsible for reporting food safety problems to their supervisor or the SQF Practitioner upon observation of a known or potential issue.
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
  • This position reports to the QC Lab Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field is required.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and good working knowledge with all MS Office applications.
  • Ability to accurately transfer written and verbal information and documentation and enter data into existing computer system.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a group setting.
  • Able to apply mathematical and problem solving skills for resolution.
  • Must possess good laboratory analytical skills.
  • A drug screening is required during the pre-employment process.
