Job summary

Trident Consulting is seeking a QC Lead Scientist for Round Rock, TX, to perform analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, and in-process samples in a regulated environment.

The role supports method development, method validation, OOS investigations, and laboratory quality activities. This is a 12-month engagement with standard lab responsibilities and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Chemistry or Life Sciences is required.
• BS/MS: 4+ years of relevant experience.
• PhD candidates may be considered for entry level.
• Experience with analytical methods and results interpretation.
• Familiar with ISO 9001/17025/17034 and GMP/GLP environments.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, and in-process samples.
• Develop and execute OOS investigations and reports.
• Lead or participate in analytical method development and validation.
• Perform instrument qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support technical studies and process improvements.
• Maintain documentation in regulatory-compliant manner.
• Keep QC laboratory audit-ready and support calibration activities.
• Follow GMP/GLP, ISO procedures; prepare technical reports and training materials.

Position Summary:

Seeking a QC Lead Scientist to perform analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, custom analytical projects, and in-process samples. The role will support method development, method validation, OOS investigations, technical troubleshooting, and laboratory quality activities in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, and in-process samples.
• Develop and execute OOS investigations and prepare OOS reports.
• Lead or participate in analytical method development and validation.
• Perform instrument qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support technical studies and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the QC laboratory in an audit-ready condition.
• Support equipment calibration and verification activities.
• Follow GMP/GLP, ISO, quality, and safety procedures.
• Prepare procedures, technical reports, training documents, and presentations.
• Work safely with hazardous chemicals and required laboratory PPE.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• BS/MS: 4+ years of relevant experience.
• PhD: Entry-level candidates may be considered.
• Experience with analytical methods and interpretation of analytical results.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 17034.
• Experience in GMP, GLP, and/or ISO environments preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical, medical device, or clinical quality systems preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
