Job summary

Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions is hiring a QC Analytical Chemist Group Leader to support GMP testing of in-process, raw materials, intermediates, APIs, and stability samples. You will lead a 3-5 person team and drive investigations, method transfer, and verification activities.

You will ensure compliance with 21 CFR Parts 210/211 and ICH guidelines, manage reference standards, and apply techniques such as NMR, GC, LC, ICP-OES, IR, UV-Vis, and TGA. Albany, NY area, rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or related degree with 3+ years GMP/GLP testing experience; OR MS with 1+ years GMP/GLP testing experience
• At least 1 year of industry experience with LC, Conductivity, and Titration
• Experience with at least two listed techniques/instruments (NMR, GC, ICP-OES, IR, RI, UV-Vis, TGA)

Job Description

Eurofins PSS is currently hiring for a QC Analytical Chemist Group Leader to support and lead GMP testing of pharmaceutical in-process, raw materials, intermediates, APIs, and stability samples. In addition, the successful candidate will support investigations of invalid results, method transfer activities, and lead a team of 3-5 individual contributors. This individual will have high attention to detail and possess excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct testing and review in accordance with approved methods, specifications, protocols, and compendial requirements
• Follow protocols for GMP regulations, including 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211, and applicable ICH guidelines
• Testing of pharmaceutical samples including in-process, raw materials, intermediates, API, stability, and more.
• Participate in method transfer, qualification, and verification studies
• Support investigations for OOS, OOT, and invalid results
• Utilize various analytical techniques including: NMR, GC, LC, ICP-OES, IR, RI, UV-Vis, Conductivity, Specific Rotation, Titration, TGA, and more
• Reference standard qualification and management
• Elemental impurities and residual solvent testing and review

Leadership & Team Management Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of chemists.
• Serve as a proactive and effective point of contact for client and internal teams.
• Participate in new hire interviews and onboarding processes as needed
• Disseminate administrative communications and promote company vision
• Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
• Perform administrative tasks to support team member growth and development
• Balance technical work with team leadership responsibilities
• Foster morale, collaboration, and teamwork with the group

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or related degree with 3+ years of GMP/GLP testing experience; OR MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or related degree with 1+ years of industry GMP/GLP testing experience
• At least a year of industry experience with Liquid Chromatography (LC), Conductivity, and Titration
• Proven experience utilizing at least two of the following techniques and/or instruments:
  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), Refractive Index (RI), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
• Knowledge and in-depth understanding of GMPs, ICH, and 21 CRF guidelines
• Prior leadership experience (training/mentoring, college committees, industry leadership, etc.)
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• At least a year of GMP experience
• 1+ years of successful leadership experience

This position is a permanent, full-time role with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Albany, NY are encouraged to apply. The position will work 6pm-6am on a rotating schedule - the following shifts are available:

• Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Wednesday
• Thursday, Friday, Saturday & ever other Wednesday
